Student Spotlight: Brianne Swope, RN

RN to BSN Student | St. Luke’s College of Health Sciences

From my first role at St. Luke’s to becoming an RN and now pursuing my BSN, I’ve always felt supported to keep moving forward. At St. Luke’s, education meets you where you are — and the opportunities provide someone like me with the flexibility to advance my education while continuing to do the work I’m passionate about. — Brianne Swope, RN, Center Valley, PA

Brianne Swope’s journey into health care is rooted in purpose, perseverance, and the belief that education should meet people where they are. A registered nurse and current RN to BSN student at St. Luke’s College of Health Sciences, Brianne exemplifies how St. Luke’s invests in its workforce—creating accessible pathways for individuals to begin, advance, and sustain meaningful careers in health care.

Inspired by her mother, a certified nursing assistant of 41 years, Brianne followed a calling she witnessed firsthand to pursue a career in health care. She began her journey working in a nursing home, where she spent more than a decade while completing prerequisite coursework at her local community college. In 2021, she joined St. Luke’s as a patient care assistant, later transitioning into a technician role supporting St. Luke’s Urgent Care offices.

While working at St. Luke’s, Brianne finished her prerequisites and enrolled in the St. Luke’s School of Nursing in 2022. She graduated in 2023 and moved into her current role as a registered nurse with St. Luke’s Penn Foundation Mental Health Services. Through St. Luke’s support and full tuition reimbursement, she was able to complete her nursing education while continuing to grow professionally within the organization.

Now, with the launch of the St. Luke’s College of Health Sciences, Brianne is advancing her education through the fully online RN to BSN program. She emphasizes that the program’s flexibility allows her to balance full-time work, family responsibilities, and continued professional development.

Brianne plans to remain with St. Luke’s beyond completing her bachelor’s degree. Her commitment to mental health care is deeply personal, shaped by her experiences as a parent and her desire to support individuals facing mental health challenges.

Brianne’s story reflects the mission of St. Luke’s College of Health Sciences: empowering working professionals, strengthening the health care workforce, and building meaningful career pathways that serve both caregivers and the community.

Brianne resides in Center Valley with her family, including her parents, significant other, and son. In addition to caring for her patients and family, she spends her free time volunteering and caring for rescue animals.
