Student Health & Safety

In order to provide safe care to patients, the St. Luke’s College of Health Sciences ascribes to the belief that students must possess and maintain sound physical and emotional health. This includes adequate cognitive, sensory, and psychomotor functioning. The wellbeing of our students and faculty are of utmost priority. Access to counseling, mental health resources and other physical health services are available.

Health Protection and Emergency Health Care

St. Luke’s College of Health Sciences requires its students to receive proper examinations, screening and immunizations prior beginning their classwork, in an effort to protect the health of our patients, faculty and other students.

  1. Pre-entrance health examinations, screenings, and immunizations must be completed using the provided forms and returned to the College prior to beginning classes.
  2. Students requesting an exemption for any required vaccinations, must complete and submit (in a timely manner) all required paperwork from the St. Luke’s Network Employee Health Services along with the required supporting documentation. Unless the Network grants the requested religious or medical exemption(s), any missing immunization(s) which are required will prevent the student from matriculating.
  3. Drug and alcohol testing is required prior to beginning clinical courses.

Health Insurance

Student health insurance is mandatory and must be maintained throughout completion of the program. For students with limited income, government subsidies may be available at https://www.healthcare.gov.

Uniform Crime Reporting

When the St. Luke’s College of Health Sciences commences, it will maintain an annual Campus Crime and Fire Safety Report per state and federal guidelines.
